Using data to embrace participatory – value based leadership to build community.
The above is what MCH thought leadership is changing into …
So if my leadership requires participation and values like collaboration and courage and whole heartedness it means I have to gather them and listen.
Well – fuss deh wouldn’t stop call me ole *** like I is di ambassador for olenessnwith deh young whipper snapper self***
Anyways …
The teacher in my is most comfortable creating safe spaces to learn and listening *** ama be honest this listening thing is NEW ***
BUT listen to what deh say when I asked for feedback
1. We need the topics in a timely manner *** ( sometimes you goes give us to late )
2. We are still developing our individual voices ***
3. Youth Beat needs to generate youth appeal
4. More planning need to go into the show
5. The late start of the show (shade for me)
6. ProMotion of the show needs to increase
7. How do we pivot when someone cancels … that needs to standardised.
While listening and taking note … I had to remind myself their voices have the most value this is a young people show… and deh young. So, when di ego wanted to response …
instead I said tell me more …
Permission to participate is a power ****
Lol but now deh done talk … I will teach dem to earn their glory…. and platform …. Let them know di wuk… of making a thing, small failures and experiments. They will not be given a platform on a silver platter with so much to say ehh… deh is bright
I am excited for this journey, I am uncertain where we will end up, they will keep me accountable to
Participatory- value based leadership.
Making change happen is possible when you chose the change you want to make.
