What happens when we engage in conversation while talking less and holding space for others to talk more?

I am intrigued by the idea of listening as a skill to build community. By talking less and giving others space to share, we create an environment that fosters diverse voices and ideas.

Identifying my ABC in every context serves as a sort of compass and opportunity for growth.

Aassets, such as bravery and analytical skills, that contribute to effective community building.

While a boundary I acknowledge is the challenge of shifting from using our voice to listening for change, emphasizing the importance of truly absorbing others’ perspectives.

I am learning to optimize my constraint by exploiting its opportunities. One can look at living on an island that is only 68sq miles as a constraint or being talkative as a constraint. But these obstacles once examined properly contain several opportunities.

So, I focus on creating an inclusive space for active participation. Through attentive listening, we discover common interests, fostering compatibility within the community. Embracing the power of listening strengthens relationships, understanding, and collaboration, leading to vibrant and supportive communities.
