There is another PANDEMIC brewing and it’s in EDUCATION.
1. I don’t understand why we teaching as normal with so many gaps in learning… who filling them?
2. Where is the time to teach?
3. Teachers are tired! I know you gunna say but they will get vacation just now. But a week after the students are home we are working on reports and all and sundry for the ministry record and administration. And while we doing administrative work observe the amount of children still coming to the schools.
4. The teacher breaks are legitimate but support would be more beneficial. Teacher support looks like.
1. Materials to do the job with (reliable internet is the least that the government can provide) Teachers be working on lab tops from data on their phones in class normal. Lol and the students asking for a link.
2. Time to teach ( a lot of times the expectation is that you teach at work, then go home and teach and prep)
3. Humane teacher expectations ( I can say a 100 things here from education legislation, policy, and just plain ole culture)How is it possible that the student is not applying self, not discipline, no learning or support from home or community. But the teacher is held accountable for, reporting the disruptive or bad behavior organize the parent conference, finding a workable solution with the parent, enforcing the solution at work, monitor and record the behavior, record personally and other wise the behavior again. But the child comes from a community. The teacher has this interruption daily. And you Don’t dear miss one step just even miss a hop of all the duties and more assigned to you. And you just might be written up or written to for failure to carry out duties in a timely manner.
