Education. Community. Care
The above are my watchwords because in the Caribbean my islands or schools are a vital part of the community’s ecosystem. Today is the second day of school and the children are seen here walking our streets.
Three ways our community supports our school system
1. It takes a village to raise a single child.
– The elders in the community still place a demand on good West Indian manners and respect. Good Morning and Good Afternoon.
2. Community volunteers generally host after-school activities. For example girl’s brigade
3. Historical and functional spaces in the community serve as field trip destinations.
The school is at the heart of the community ecosystem.
