One of the elders in the community says this a lot.
Usually they leave out the word trivial. So it sounds like I should just follow the crowd and not protest. If you are in a crowd just follow. Nothing about just following because you are in a crowd makes sense to me. So for years I would rail against it. So, groups are often a challenge for me. But I am getting better. I am listening and learning to apply the social and emotional skills in the group furnished by self control. So, its good to economize energy and not fight every battle presented to you.
But when it matters, we need to make (and own) our own decisions.
