Church and school in most Caribbean territories and St. Kitts being no exceptions have enjoyed a long and tumultuous relationship. Sunday  School though a dieing classroom is still a thing. It’s a thing our parents and grandparents have to engage in di olden days. Sunday school was compulsory fellowship and fun for most youngsters. A majority of the Caribbean churches: the Anglicans, the Methodists, the Catholics, and the Moravians, were the center of learning, reading, and comprehension. Our grandparents who were not afforded the opportunity to go to school to learn went to church and learned to read and write. The lower-class communities used the Bible as an anchor text to practice reading, punctuation, memory, and comprehension skills. The church was a house of fellowship, worship, learning, and self-improvement. Sunday and Saturday were truly holy and set apart.
