Hi, I’m Micheleina. I use Care to build equity culture among underrepresented and Corporate communities with inclusive tools, and we have a 90% satisfaction rate
People are assets to me because I believe in the value of community.
I am passionate about People CARE and inclusion is an act of CARE
Care as a Verb means to look after and to provide for the needs of ….
So, I am demonstrating CARE by building #EquityCulture.
- Equity culture is when everyone has the same chance to succeed, regardless of their background or circumstances.
Give me a chance despite what they said about me. Despite who is my mother. Just give me a chance.
- This means that we should not judge people based on their race, gender, religion, disability, or any other factor.
- We should treat everyone with respect and dignity, and we should create opportunities for everyone to participate and contribute.
Here is how you can relate this to the experience of someone who is paralyzed:
- A person who is paralyzed is just as capable as anyone else of volunteering, participating in conversations, and making a difference in their community. (NEMA)
- They may need some accommodations, such as a wheelchair accessible building or a sign language interpreter, but that does not mean they cannot contribute.
- It is important to be inclusive and to create a welcoming environment for everyone, regardless of their abilities.
What am I doing?
- Facilitating national discussions with various stakeholders about Inclusive and Educational disaster resilience.
- Listening! – The most sustainable change comes from understanding NOT imposition.
- Building community- If you want to go fast go alone but if you want to go far go together. I am nurturing relationships.
These conversations are among MCH’s initiatives towards realizing the MCH theme, that a little bit of good has the potential to make change happen in our communities.
