Let’s start the home, classroom and community conversation about differences. Difference is not always an acceptable form. Little courtesy is given being different.
“Ain’t she real mudda
She doesn’t listen
She always has something to say
He full a confusion”
and it must mean she
crazy
Let us stop putting a value on being different. Differences if what the world is made of and by learning and teaching about difference we are equipping each other to survive in a diverse world. People walk different parts in the world and as long as those parts don’t harm others their valuable are parts.
And we must respect the value of these different parts.
We don’t know everything. We cannot know everything. Both religion and science make spaces and enough to make peace with that.
We appreciate an individual standard is only for the individual and should never be imposed on the world.
Some people are well mannered
And some people are not
Some people only have dialect as language and some people use the whole continuum of dialect and the standard forms. Some people are gay and some people are not. Some people work hard to understand and some people understand easily and still others never understand. That’s the way the world is. Not to be nonjudgmental. Because we must have opinions. BE FULL of opinions while we respect differences.
